DISCOVERING UPPER TUSCIA

Lake Bolsena is located in the Maremma Laziale in the province of Viterbo and with its over 115 square kilometers of width is the largest basin of volcanic origin in Italy. Surrounded for a large part by the Volsini mountains, Lake Bolsena has a picturesque and wild appearance that attracts thousands of people every year who choose it as a destination for their holidays. The history of this water basin is closely connected to the populations that have inhabited it, in fact the territory that surrounds its perimeter that reaches 43 km in length, is rich in suggestive villages and many historical archaeological sites that testify to its antiquity. In the center of the lake, there are also two small islands that take the name of: Martana island and Bisentina island which rise a few hundred meters from the coast.
